ETIQA-AZKA Corner @ UiTM Melaka

The 14th AZKA Corner was established in collaboration with Etiqa Takaful. It was established at the Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR), UiTM Cawangan Melaka. This is the 1st time AZKA Corner has been established in the state of Melaka. IMPACT The impact of this joint venture is to bring Etiqa Takaful and AZKA-PPZ closer together with the community, in addition to spreading Islamic financial preaching among students and academics and bringing related books so that they are easily accessible to the students and scholars. CONTINUOUS EFFORT This effort is not a one-off effort, but rather the latest publications related to Zakat and waqf, especially those published by AZKA-PPZ itself, will donate at least twice a year regularly to PTAR, UiTM Cawangan Melaka to be placed in the AZKA Corner space. *This AZKA Corner was inaugurated on 15 May 2024

On October 25th, 2023, Akademi Zakat (AZKA-PPZ), represented by Mr. Muhsin Nor Paizin (Manager of AZKA-PPZ) presented as a Keynote Speaker presenting the topic titled Zakattech: PPZ-MAIWP’S Approach Towards Addressing The Digital Era in the IDMAC 2023 which was organized by ISDEV-USM. AZKA-PPZ Presented a Research Paper at WZWF 2023 @ Alor Setar, Kedah.

On October 17th, 2023, Akademi Zakat (AZKA-PPZ), represented by Mr Muhsin Nor Paizin (Manager of AZKA-PPZ) presented a research paper titled “PUBLIC VIEW ON THE TENDENCIES OF WAQF PROJECT SECTOR”. The research background is as follows: Management of CASH WAQF (General Waqf and Specific Waqf) was recently been handed over to PUSAT PUNGUTAN ZAKAT (PPZ) starting December 2022 by Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP). PPZ-MAIWP has outlined SEVEN SECTORS of waqf projects. The waqf project sector involves the economy, Emergency, Healthcare, Education, Property, Science and technology, and Social. Because PPZ-MAIWP has just recently been entrusted with managing cash waqf matters in the Federal Territory of Malaysia, there is a need to investigate which waqf project sectors should be prioritized. AZKA at 1st AISZAWA (ACEH, INDONESIA) 12 September 2023: The 1st Aiszawa (Aceh Internasional Seminar on Zakat and Wakaf) kolaborasi Baitul Mal Aceh dan FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry telah dilaksanakan dengan sukses. En. Muhsin Nor Paizin (Pengurus AZKA-PPZ) telah membentangkan topik bertajuk “Definisi dan Kriteria Asnaf Zakat: Perspektif dan Amalan di Malaysia”. Semoga ia memberi manfaat kepada semua pejuang dan amil zakat di provinsi Aceh. Slide pembentangan dikongsikan: https://bit.ly/muhsinAISZAWA Tema yang diangkat 1st AISZAWA adalah “Redefinisi Ashnaf: Memperluas Makna dan Cakupan Penerima Zakat”. Antara perbincangan utama adalah sekitar asnaf Riqab, yang selama ini masih belum terdefinisi dengan jelas untuk konteks modern. Riqab dalam perhambaan lama tidak ada lagi, sehingga distribusi untuk asnaf ini masih belum dilakukan secara menyeluruh di Indonesia. Namun peserta masih belum sepakat untuk kriteria yang lebih operasional di zaman ini. Di Malaysia, sebagaimana dijelaskan oleh En. Muhsin Nor Paizin asnaf Riqab telah didefinisi kembali dan ada perluasan makna. Untuk itu, Muzakarah Internasional yang melibatkan Ulama yang lebih luas direkomendasikan untuk dilaksanakan. FEBI UIN Ar-Raniry juga menandatangani kesepakat kerjasama strategis dengan Akademi Zakat (AZKA) PPZ MAIWP Kuala Lumpur untuk kerjasama di bidang penelitian, training, dan sertifikasi peningkatan kompetensi zakat.

The 12th AZKA Corner was established in collaboration with Etiqa Takaful. It was established at the Perpustakaan Za’ba, Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) Kampus Pulau Pinang (IPG Pulau Pinang). This is the 2nd time AZKA Corner has been established in Pulau Pinang. OBJECTIVES: This corner requires to provide a conducive environment for students to generate creative ideas to produce skilled future teachers communicate, think critically and apply teamwork when students serve in public service later. A space that allows students to have discussions, brainstorming, and deliberations informally to get results according to one of the elements in the concept of Design Thinking. A relaxed equipment and facilities and a comfortable environment attract students to conduct group discussions in a relaxed manner while helping the students in honing their skills & talents to ensure student success and quality schools. This corner is also to help students apply PDP concepts and best practices when serving as an educator later. IMPACT The impact of this joint venture is to bring Etiqa Takaful and AZKA-PPZ closer together with the community, in addition to spreading Islamic financial preaching among students and academics and bringing related books so that they are easily accessible to the students and scholars. CONTINUOUS EFFORT This effort is not a one-off effort, but rather the latest publications related to Zakat and waqf, especially those published by AZKA-PPZ itself, will donate at least twice a year regularly to IPG Pulau Pinang, to be placed in the AZKA Corner space.
