The 9th AZKA Corner Established at KIAS, Kelantan

The 9th AZKA Corner was established at Kolej Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Ismail Petra (KIAS) in Kelantan in August 2022. This initiative reflects the continuous commitment of Akademi Zakat (AZKA), PPZ-MAIWP in strengthening zakat literacy and expanding access to knowledge resources among the public, students, and academic communities.

The objective of this collaboration is to create greater awareness and understanding of zakat among the public and students. The zakat-related books and reading materials provided at this reading corner are expected to benefit the students and lecturers of KIAS as reference materials for learning, teaching, and research purposes.

The Reading Corner Etiqa AZKA-PPZ @ KIAS was officially inaugurated on 18 May 2024. The reading corner is located at the KIAS Library and was made possible through the contribution and collaboration of Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad and Pusat Pungutan Zakat Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP).

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Rector of KIAS, YABrs. Prof. Emeritus Dr. Ab Aziz bin Mohd Zin; YABrs. En. Zafri bin Ab Halim, Chief Executive Officer of Etiqa Family Takaful Berhad; YBhg. En. Fahmi bin Ismail, General Manager of External Operations, PPZ-MAIWP; and En. Muhsin Nor Paizin, Manager of AZKA-PPZ.

Through this initiative, AZKA-PPZ hopes to further cultivate reading culture, enhance zakat awareness, and support knowledge-sharing efforts within higher education institutions.
