The 14th AZKA Corner was established in collaboration with Etiqa Takaful. It was established at the Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR), UiTM Cawangan Melaka. This is the 1st time AZKA Corner has been established in the state of Melaka. IMPACT The impact of this joint venture is to bring Etiqa Takaful and AZKA-PPZ closer together with the community, in addition to spreading Islamic financial preaching among students and academics and bringing related books so that they are easily accessible to the students and scholars. CONTINUOUS EFFORT This effort is not a one-off effort, but rather the latest publications related to Zakat and waqf, especially those published by AZKA-PPZ itself, will donate at least twice a year regularly to PTAR, UiTM Cawangan Melaka to be placed in the AZKA Corner space. *This AZKA Corner was inaugurated on 15 May 2024

On October 31st, 2023, Akademi Zakat (AZKA-PPZ), represented by Mr. Muhsin Nor Paizin (Manager of AZKA-PPZ) was appointed as the Chief Jury as well as an Independent Jury (Industry) for the 2nd Inter-University Muamalat Interactive Game (MIG) competition at Universiti Islam Selangor (UIS); together with Dr. Supiah and Dr. Kasumalinda from USIM. A total of 8 universities have anticipated this event. After an intense battle of wits and strategic thinking, the winners are: 🥇 Gold Winner: Universiti Islam Selangor (UIS). 🥈 Silver Winner: Kolej Islam Teknologi Antarabangsa Pulau Pinang (KITAB). 🥉 Bronze Winner: Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). On October 17th, 2023, Akademi Zakat (AZKA-PPZ), represented by Mr Muhsin Nor Paizin (Manager of AZKA-PPZ) presented a research paper titled “PUBLIC VIEW ON THE TENDENCIES OF WAQF PROJECT SECTOR”. The research background is as follows: Management of CASH WAQF (General Waqf and Specific Waqf) was recently been handed over to PUSAT PUNGUTAN ZAKAT (PPZ) starting December 2022 by Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP). PPZ-MAIWP has outlined SEVEN SECTORS of waqf projects. The waqf project sector involves the economy, Emergency, Healthcare, Education, Property, Science and technology, and Social. Because PPZ-MAIWP has just recently been entrusted with managing cash waqf matters in the Federal Territory of Malaysia, there is a need to investigate which waqf project sectors should be prioritized.
