The Webinar Ikon Inspirasi: “Mahalnya Nilai Integriti: Kebersamaan Masyarakat Dan Polis” was held on February 24, 2023.  There can be no more important qualities for members of the Police Service than that they are honest and act with integrity. Without these basic attributes the public can never be expected to trust the police and have the confidence in them that is necessary for a system of ‘policing by consent’. Strong relationships of mutual trust between police agencies and the communities they serve are critical to maintaining public safety and effective policing. Police officials rely on the cooperation of community members to provide information about crime in their neighborhoods, and to work with the police to devise solutions to crime and disorder problems. Similarly community members’ willingness to trust the police depends on whether they believe that police actions reflect community values and incorporate the principles of procedural justice and legitimacy. The Webinar presented by Mr. YDH SAC Nik Ezanee bin Mohd Faisal and Mr. Haji Khairulazhar Samsudin, Assistant General Manager Research & Development, Pusat Pungutan Zakat-MAIWP as moderator.

The 10th AZKA Corner was established at the Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) in Kuala Lumpur. Established in February 2023. This collaboration aims to create awareness of zakat among the public and students. The zakat books provided in this reading corner are expected to be used by students and lecturers of UPTM. On 13 February 2025, the existing corner was officially upgraded and rebranded as AZKA Corner Digital, making UPTM the first institution of higher learning (IHL) in Malaysia to feature this digital zakat knowledge hub. This transformation marks a shift from traditional printed materials to a digitally-enabled platform, equipped with two computers generously contributed by PPZ-MAIWP. The digital corner now offers access to a wide range of resources including books, research reports, and academic journals on zakat and waqf — primarily published by Akademi Zakat (AZKA), PPZ-MAIWP, as well as other reputable sources. These resources are made available for the convenience of both students and academic staff. The official launch was officiated by Associate Professor Dr. Sharifah Syahirah Sy Sheikh, Vice Chancellor of UPTM, alongside Hj Khairulazhar Samsudin, Assistant General Manager of Research and Development at PPZ-MAIWP. Originally launched in 2023, the AZKA Corner at UPTM has served as a reliable reference point for students and lecturers alike. Now, two years later, its digital upgrade signifies a new era of accessible Islamic knowledge on campus. We extend our sincere appreciation to UPTM for their unwavering support in championing the dakwah of zakat. May this AZKA Corner Digital continue to serve as a valuable source of knowledge and a beacon of inspiration, empowering the UPTM community to further collaborate with PPZ-MAIWP in advancing the cause of zakat and waqf.
