Zakat & Waqf: Impact on Women and Community Development
The function and contribution of zakat and waqf are explicit and frequently emphasised in many discourses. The contributions of these two tools to the economic development of women and community, on the other hand, appear to be underappreciated. Meanwhile, the contributions may trigger a reciprocal process in which women who benefit from zakat and waqf will play an ideal role in helping to expand the potential of zakat and waqf to other target groups. As a result, it is advised that themes of women’s and community development be highlighted in the zakat discourse through the creation of publications on the subject. This immediately explains the importance of zakat and waqf, which are so comprehensive and take into consideration every element of Muslim life in general. As a result, this book seeks to fulfil contemporary demands. Aside from being a research study, it may also serve as a reference for organizations concerned, such as zakat institutions and other institutions, in developing plans connected to zakat and waqf for Muslim growth, particularly in the dimension of women and community.
