AZKA-PPZ Discussion with UPTM Researchers Regarding Impact Assessment Study on The Effectiveness of The Ishraf Entrepreneurship Program

On June 8th, 2023, Akademi Zakat (AZKA-PPZ) receive a visit from UPTM Researchers regarding The ISHRAF SME Bank Group Program is an initiative implemented by the Small Medium Enterprise Development Bank Malaysia (SME Bank) to provide financial assistance and support to Asnaf entrepreneurs in Malaysia. Asnaf refers to individuals or families who are eligible to receive assistance under Islamic law, such as the poor, orphans, and widows.

The program aims to uplift the economic status of Asnaf entrepreneurs by providing them with access to capital and training to improve their business skills. The program involves collaborating with selected corporate agencies or entities to identify potential Asnaf entrepreneurs based on established criteria. The selected Asnaf entrepreneurs receive funding or capital from the program, along with continuous business advisory and coaching assistance from a training consultant, the Centre for Entrepreneur Development and Research (CEDAR).

The program’s primary goal is to enhance the economic well-being of Asnaf entrepreneurs and contribute to the overall development of the SME sector in Malaysia. The ISHRAF SME Bank Group Program is part of the bank’s efforts to promote financial inclusion and support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses in the country.
